The Baylake Bank Tall Ship Festival, August 13-15, 2010, was part of the American Sail Training Association's Tall Ship Challenge®. This was the first time the race series is taking place on all five Great Lakes, including five American states and one Canadian province. Plus, as a special addition to the Green Bay festival, Baylake Bank made it possible for a Parade of Sail to take place in Sturgeon Bay as the ships arrived in the area.
As the title sponsor for the 2006 Green Bay Tall Ship Festival, Baylake Bank committed again to support the 2010 festival not only because of the uniqueness and excitement of the event, but because of the economic boost it provided to our communities. Over the course of the three day event in 2006, area hotels, restaurants, and retail businesses enjoyed an influx of tall ship and festival enthusiasts from near and far, with an estimated $2.2 million dollar injection of funds. The 2010 Baylake Bank Tall Ship Festival promised to provide a similarly significant benefit to our local economy, and to our community as a whole.
